How Miss Social Media Began

Miss Social Media "officially" began in January 2022. Founded by Krista O'Neal, this venture was a long time coming. Prior to launching Miss Social Media, Krista founded two East Cobb based marketing companies. Her first business launched in 2017 when she published her first issue of Chattahoochee Charm, a local print magazine that was distributed to The Atlanta Country Club and a few surrounding communities. While Krista loved working exclusively with this community, it was a dream of hers to expand to incorporate all of East Cobb and help East Cobb residents connect with awesome local businesses. That being said, the best way she saw to do that was through social media! So, in 2021, Krista started Miss East Cobb. What started as a pet project grew into the largest Instagram "influencer" platform in East Cobb with over 2k followers and over 50 local business sponsors. However, after a few months running the influencer page Krista noticed an even bigger problem; of those 50 plus clients only about 5 were active and effective on social media! In other words... her promotion of these AWESOME local businesses was only as effective as THEIR social media presence & activity. Therefore, she decided to focus on helping local businesses manage and grow their own social media accounts to reach the community directly. Thus, in January of 2022 Miss Social Media officially began!

Krista O'Neal

Krista was born and raised in East Cobb, GA. A graduate of Pope High School, Krista went on to obtain a degree in Communication Studies from Georgia Southern University. She quickly returned to North Metro ATL after college and began her adventure in the marketing/advertising field by launching a print magazine in East Cobb, called Chattahoochee Charm, in 2017. After owning the magazine for 3 years, Krista got the itch to expand her business and incorporate social media. Thus, she started Miss East Cobb in 2021 which grew to be the largest digital magazine & Instagram influencer marketing platform in East Cobb. Through her brief stint as an "influencer," Krista realized the enormous, and largely untapped, power of social media for local businesses! it was then she began offering social media management to select local businesses. After a few months of awesome success, she officially launched Miss East Cobb in January of 2022. Krista is excited to serve local businesses by helping them reach and engage with their ideal demographic through social media! Krista now lives in Roswell, GA with her husband Craig, dog ESPN, and cat Pippin.

Craig O'Neal has a VERY diverse background. After graduating from Georgia Southern University with a degree in Biology, Craig decided not to pursue a career in medicine. Instead, he has dabbled in many different industries working as an insurance agent, investor, engineer, magazine owner, personal trainer, and more. Ultimately, he specializes in business management, technology, and efficiency. He brings structure and processes to the Miss Social Media team, allowing us to bring both creativity and structure to our clients to help with their social media needs! In his spare time Craig enjoys working out, traveling, and hanging out with his wife, Krista, and their dog ESPN.

Katie, a Pope Graduate as well, is the younger sister of Krista. Katie went to UGA and graduated with a degree in advertising and a minor in writing. She is excited to apply her marketing & advertising experience in order to help businesses maximize their local growth and profit through social media! In her spare time Katie enjoys working part time as a flight attendant for Frontier Airlines, going to the beach, traveling, exercising, cooking, and checking out the newest brewery with her fiance, Ceth.

Amelia is a North Metro ATL native, and a graduate of Georgia College & State University. Miss Social Media is thrilled to have her on the team as our expert in Social Media Engagement! With a degree in political science and background in non-profit grant writing, and non-profit social media management, Amelia is fantastic at researching and writing. These skills transfer beautifully to social media and make her fantastic at identifying and connecting with our businesses "ideal demographic" on Facebook and Instagram to help the business grow strategically and organically.

Kayla Welte

SOCIAL MEDIA STRATEGIST

Kayla is a Cobb County native. As a graduate from Pope High School, and Kennesaw State University, Kayla has spent the majority of her adult life in the North Metro ATL area. A "generation Z-er" and amazing communicator, Kayla has a background in social media, sales, and recruiting, making her perfect for the role of Social Media Strategist. In this role she meets with local businesses take photos and videos for social media content purposes, she creates a strategy and outline for social posts, and she manages campaigns alongside clients. Kayla is an integral part of the Miss Social Media team!
